Kerplunk

I had to go out and do some errands this morning. When I went outside, it was like a scene out of "The Birds." There were robins all over the house and yard and trees. Later, when I got back home, I realized why. There's a tree in our neighbors yard across the street that has some sort of berries growing on it. The birds in and around our yard, as well as our next door neighbors' yards, were flying back and forth to the tree.

I didn't think anything of it until later in the day when I happened to look out the window. Folks, those damn birds had a field day on my car.

Of course, it was all over the driveway also. And, the front yard reeked of bird poop.

Now, to prove how dedicated to my Haven Dwellers I am, I risked going out with my camera. While I was taking pictures, I could hear poop dropping all around me. *PLOP PLOP PLOP* I kept looking up and trying to stand in spots where there were no birds in the tree above the driveway. Not easy. Then, as I took this last picture, KERSPLAT. Right on my shoulder. Ugh! The things I do for my Haven Dwellers.

Now, I have no idea why this happened on this one particular day. Maybe the berries happened to reach the perfect ripeness. I don't know. But, I do know that that morning the tree had red all over it. By the evening, the tree was all green.

Yesterday, I went to the store right when the snow began and got home when it just started to get heavy. Because my car was still warm, the first bit of snow that fell melted some before it started to stick. I didn't think anything of it until this morning when I went out to clear off my car. Here's what I found. The melted snow created poopsicles on the front of my car.
