Saturday Night At The Graveyard
I had the pleasure of hanging out with some of my good friends this past Saturday. Ryan, Lori, Bill, Caren, Bud, and I enjoyed a fun evening over in Old Town Alexandria.
The evening started out at the Hard Times Cafe where we feasted on some pretty tasty chili. I had Frito chili pie for the first time ever. Mmmm! Frito chili pie! ! ! Oh, and I also presented Lori with her lottery scratchers, her prize for winning the BRUDOG HAVEN'S MY FAVORITE POST CONTEST. Here she is excepting her prize. Look how excited that horse is. It's literally frozen from excitement.
So, after the Hard Times, we walked down to Market Square for Alexandria's Ghost and Graveyard Tour. For those not familiar with it, the city offers ghost tours during October. Guides wearing colonial costumes take you around Old Town and tell you ghost legends and stories of ghost sitings. It's very fun. Part of the tour even takes you through a graveyard. And, you also learn a little history in the process.
Now, here's the scaaaaariest part of our tour. As we crossed Lee St., we saw a most frightening sight. It was a child's jacket draped over a fire hydrant. But, there were nooooo children to be found. . . Or were there? OOOOOOOOO! Man, that was some scary s#!+. Whoa! I'm still shaking.
BTW, Lori had the best one liner of the evening. We were walking down the street when I accidentally stepped in the dirt around one of those small trees that line the street. Well, since it had rained all day, my shoe sunk in and I ended up tripping. Peggy, our guide said, "Careful! We don't want any new ghost tonight!" We all laughed. Then Lori added, "Don't worry Antonio. We'd come back and visit your ghost every year!" That Lori cracks me up.
A good time was had by all. Thanks guys for making it a fun evening!

Quiz Time
Today's quiz isn't the usual food quiz, but is equally as important. You ever wonder what it takes to become a US Citizen. Well, here's a citizenship quiz to see whether you should be allowed to stay in this country or not.

I'm sad to say that I missed 3. One of those, I didn't read thoroughly though.

* WINNER * WINNER * WINNER *
Congratulations to Lori for winning the
BRUDOG HAVEN'S
MY FAVORITE POST
CONTEST!
Lori correctly guessed that my favorite post is Hissll-Ah Hissll-Ah from Oct. 9,1997.
So, why is that my favorite? I hadn't thought about that game and that sound since I was a kid. I don't remember what it was, but something Jim said made me think of the game. When I thought about it, it made me laugh. So, I decided it would make a great blog post. As I typed out the post, I kept laughing every time I'd think of that sound. Then, when comments started coming in about the post, it made me laugh because I pictured my readers sitting in front of their computers trying to sound it out phonetically. It especially made me laugh when Dani commented that when she tried to say it, it kept coming out as HUZZAH!
So, once again, congratulations Lori. You will be receiving 2 five dollar VA Lottery scratchers. And, since I'll be seeing you within the week. I'll hand them to you personally. Thanks all for playing. And, I hope you Haven Dwellers enjoy another fun-filled year here at BruDog Haven.
Well Alllllllllriiiiiight!

MY FAVORITE POST!
OK! Here it is. Clue #3, the "ULTIMATE" clue!
My Favorite Post is a story that took place well before BruDog Haven came into existence.
Alright, you should know the drill by now on how to enter the contest. And, just so you don't think there is any funny business going on, I do have the answer written down and sealed in an envelope. That envelope is in a safe located at the law firm of Bayrd, Bared, and Baird ESQ.

Are You Smart Enough To Vote?
I saw this on 20/20 last week. Check it out.
This is something I've always thought in the back of my head, but never said, because. . . well many would probably consider it politically incorrect, literally. I don't really get into political discussions much, because it always seems to end up in an argument. And, I'm sure I'm going to get some choice comments for posting this link.

Rainbow Recommendations
So, I logged onto Amazon.com the other day. You know how when you're logged in, it gives you recommendations based on your previous purchases and wish list? OK, why is Amazon recommending Naked Boys Singing, East Side Story, Transamerica, All Over The Guy, The Broken Hearts Club, Eating Out, Long-Term Relationship, and Sugar? Is someone trying to tell me something?
