Beauty And The Breast

OK I'll admit it. Sometimes I watch the Tyra Banks Show. Sometimes the topics are really good.

Yesterday, on a show about skin care, she did the grossest thing. She had a dermatologist on who showed the proper way to improperly pop a zit
, because of course you're not supposed to pop zits. Tyra actually found some pimply faced guy in the audience who let her pop one of his zits. Nayasty!

So then Tyra ends the show with her beauty secret on how her breasts always look so good. She says that she rubs her breasts with lotion every night before she goes to bed. She then proceeds to demonstrate by squirting lotion on her hands, reaching down her top, and rubbing her breasts.

Oh my!

Fall TV Picks of 2006

There are so many new shows on this season that it's sometimes hard to choose which ones to check out. And I hate it when I look forward to a new show on the fall line up and then end up not liking it. Here are the new shows this fall that I found I like.

Heroes - I loved this show. I think the idea of seeing people with super powers discovering their powers for the first time is a cool plot line. And I loved the fact that they paid tribute to X-Men in the pilot.

Jericho - What happens to the small town survivors of a nuclear attack on the US. Who's in charge? How do you survive? Where do you go? I love it. I watched the pilot without knowing what the show was all about, so I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what would happen next. Sometimes it's cool to see a television show or movie without having seen the previews, which sometimes show too much.

Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip - The behind the scenes of a sketch comedy show. I'm up in the air about this show, but so far I've tuned in for the second episode.

Kidnapped - The son of a rich family gets kidnapped and the FBI and a private negotiator try to get him back. A little cliche. How many times have we seen this in theaters? But you know what? I love it!

Shark - An overly self-confident defense lawyer becomes a prosecutor. Who better to win against a defense lawyer than a prosecutor who use to be one. I watched this pilot because I like James Woods. Bonus that the show itself was good also.

Chic-A-Bowow

I thought I would share another chick-a-bowow story with you.

This past spring, I drove to one of my favorite destinations, Atlantic City, with my good friend Ryan. We pull into the Bally's garage to find a parking space. There are always a good amount of cars, so you usually have to go up a few floors to find a parking space. Level 1, nothing. Level 2, nothing. Level 3, nothing. As we get to level 4, I notice an open space. Perfect! I pull into the space and get ready to turn off the car when we both happened to look over to the right at the same time. That's when we saw what was going on in the car next to us. Chic-a-bowow! Yup, there was a guy ten-hut in the back seat and a women next to him giving him a hand job.

For a second, I was going to park anyway, but Ryan was not planning on getting out of my car with that going on right next to him. He had a point. So we pulled out and found another space on the next level. As we pulled out, I noticed that the space on the other side of that car was also empty. I guess no one wanted to disturb them. I wonder how many other people went to park in those spaces and ended up leaving.

Gee, do you think that's a new service the casinos are offering.

$375

Yes, that's how much I shelled out this weekend for a new windshield. On a Sunday morning a few months ago, I got in my car and noticed an odd reflection coming from the lower left corner of my windshield. At first I thought it was a streak of water from the morning dew that was on the whole windshield. Once I turned on my windshield wipers and noticed that it didn't go away, that's when I realized it was a small but unfortunately significant crack. So of course it couldn't be repaired.

So I had to pay $375 to replace my windshield. I think mine was more expensive, because my rear view mirror is attached to the windshield. And of course I had to get it done now because it's starting to get cold and I don't want it to get worse. Ugh! I could have made an extra car payment with that money. If it isn't one thing, it's another.

Can't a brotha get ahead.

This $#!+ is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S

I was at the grocery store buying bananas a couple of weeks ago. As I stood in line at the cashier, the guy in front of me turned around and looked at the green bananas that I hand in my hands. You see, I have to buy my bananas green because I don't eat them fast enough and they go bad on me. Well, he tells me that I should buy yellow bananas because they have less starch in them than green ones, and therefore less heavy which of course means that they cost less. (Is that really true?) So, I explain to him about my problem with buying them too ripe.

After he left, I thought about something. What an odd piece of advise. I mean, we're talking about one of the cheapest fruits you can buy. I bought five bananas for well under a dollar that day. How much would I really have saved? A couple of cents? Besides, I would have wasted more money throwing away the bananas that would have gone bad on me had I bought them ripe.

Oh well. He was just trying to save me some money I guess.

I Humbly Thank You

To my Fellow Big Blogger Contestants; to the finalists Mary and Ryan; To the voters; To the readers of The Follow Spot and all of the blogs in The Follow Spot Blogger Network. I would like to thank you all for allowing me the opportunity to be named the Big Blogger. This is truly a fun day for me.

When I first decided to accept the invite into this game, I thought that this would just be a fun little game to take part in. But I found that each time it became time to vote, I would get more and more anxious. And each time I looked at my competitors blogs, I felt that I needed to step up because of the quality of their blogs and their posts. I think I was up against some very strong competitors, especially among the finalists. That Ryan has a very focused and informative blog. And Mary's camping trip and adventures on the boardwalk make me envious. I think they were just as deserving to win this title.

This competition was more about being exposed to some very interesting and entertaining blogs than winning a title. And I have to say that I enjoyed (and still do) reading all of the blogs that were part of this game, and because of that, I would like to add a new feature to BruDog Haven called "The Big Blogger's Post Of The Week", as I promised earlier.

In closing, I'd like to say to the voters out there that just because this game is over, and just because we bloggers don't have to compete anymore, don't stop reading these great blogs. There is a blog out there for everyone. Need a laugh? Check out
actormann. Don't know what movie to see tonight? Click on Filmdom. Need a great recipe for dessert? Go to Welcome To Tinas. How about a live show? Check out StephenGregorySmith and see what's playing at Signature Theatre.

Thank you once again and enjoy our blogs!

Things that make you go, "Why?"

It's 2006. Why is it that every time I type the word "blog" or "blogger" into a word processing or email program, the program doesn't recognize the word and marks it as misspelled. Even the spell check on this site, blogger.com, which has been around since like 1999, doesn't think it's a word. Hellooooo. . . I think it's about time it was added to the dictionary.

Annie Leave Your Gun

For any of my readers who don't know me personally, I work at a major performance venue in the DC area. I have to tell you about the strange call I received at work yesterday.

An employee from another performing arts venue out of the area called with what I think was one of the oddest questions I've ever gotten from a patron. This person asked me if we had a "no guns policy" and whether it was posted in the windows in front of the building. Of course I referred them to our security office.

Gosh! I'm a little scared to think where this person lives that they would have to consider posting a gun policy at their theater. I have to say that if I had tickets to a show, and walked up to the theater, and saw a sign that said "No Guns Allowed", I think I would turn around and go to a movie.
