Why do people think that they can just walk up and say anything to you? Especially if you are in anyway different from them.
A few weeks ago, I was grocery shopping at the Giant. As I was standing in the cashier line, some guy comes up behind me and says, "Aw man. You should go play for the Redskins. They could use your help right now. They need a big guy like you."
I started to turn around and say, "You don't know me like that." But then I thought, why bother? He probably wouldn't even get what I was trying to say.
Sometimes I'll be walking down the street, and someone will say, "What's up big man." I know I'm a big guy. Do I need total strangers pointing it out to me. Maybe I should start responding with, "Hey big nose!" or "What's up receding hair line?"

One Last Chic-A-Bowow
This is probably my last Chic-A-Bowow story (that I can share) since I'll be moving Friday. I don't have a Chic-A-Bowow window where I'm going.
So I'm sitting in my living room, surfing on my computer, when I notice movement across the way at my neighbor's window. I glance over and see her walk by wrapped in a towel. I think nothing of it and go back to surfing. Then movement catches my eye again. She walks by again. This time the towel is gone. She then sits down on the floor to talk on the phone. . . spread eagle, and then walks back and forth for the next half-hour or so. . . still buck naked.
Eventually, the man comes into the room in just a pair of boxers, and makes out with her while standing in front of the window. After a couple of minutes, they stop as she reaches down his boxers to check the state that he's in.
Now I know what you're saying. "Hey Antonio. Does your face hurt from being pressed up against your window?" I'm telling you that throughout this whole show, I was sitting at my computer. I didn't have to make any effort because their curtains (sheets actually) were wide open. Anyone walking down the sidewalk would have seen them.
The next day, I showed Michelle and Sucka the view from my window to prove how close these windows are and how easy it is to see over there.
*Sigh* I'll miss my Chic-A-Bowow window.

A Peanutty Thanksgiving
It's time again for another holiday favorite, "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving". As I've said before, it's not a holiday without a Charles Schulz special. I recommend you head out to the video store and rent it if you don't have it already. Now as you watch it this year, there are some things I'd like you to take note of:
1) Notice how Franklin (the black kid) greets Charlie Brown with a soul hand shake.
2) Why do they make Franklin (the black kid) sit in the broken chair?
3) Why does Franklin (the black kid) have to sit on the other side of the table by himself?
4) Who is that Peppermint Patty trying to kid, acting like she's into Charlie Brown. She's obviously a dyke. Look what she's wearing. Check out that short hair. And she sounds like a teenage boy. 3) Why does Franklin (the black kid) have to sit on the other side of the table by himself?
Oh, and it cracks me up that they have toast, popcorn, jelly beans, and pretzel sticks for Thanksgiving dinner.

Return Of . . . The Curse
Clinton Portis broke his hand yesterday during the game against the Eagles. I think it's the Eastern Motors curse I blogged about earlier.Oh, and I just heard that the Redskins are going to start Jason Campbell. It's about time.

I'd Like To Get My Picture Took...
Here are the rest of my band pics. These are from high school.
Now, if you'll take a look at my left ear. you'll see the tape holding my glasses together.
Pay no attention to the dark cloud coming at me.

I was such a band nerd that I wanted to play every instrument in the band. Here's a shot of me filling in for the marimba player who was sick during the week that this picture was taken. I actually played my trumpet for most of the show, then for this one song, I would run off to the sideline to play the marimba.

...And Put It In My Memory Book
I'm moving at the end of the month, so I've been going through old stuff trying to figure out what to throw away and what to pack and take with me. The other day I came across my old high school band photo album. Well of course, since I like to share with my readers, I fired up the ol' scanner.
Here's a photo of me in my junior high school band uniform. Man, who is that thin kid.
More pics to come.

Da Da Daaaaa . . . The Curse
So, the people over at the City Paper seem to think there's a new sports curse. They call it "The Eastern Motors Curse". Evidently, many of the football players who have appeared on those tacky commercials, famous in the DC area, have ended up with pretty serious injuries this season.
LaVar Arrington - Achilles tendon.
Clinton Portis - shoulder injuries
Carlos Rogers - broken thumb
Another player hurt his ankle during pre-season and was cut
This falls right in there with the ol' Sports Illustrated cover and the Madden NFL game cover curses.
Those guys had better be careful. If they get a career threatening injury, they could lose their jobs. And If they lose their jobs, they lose their credit.

And It's Bad, Bad Barbecue
One of my favorite restaurants is Dixie Bones BBQ in Woodbridge. Oh my God, it's the best. They smoke their meats for hours in a pit. And they also have great sides.Well, I was out in that area today and, along with Joey and Larry, decided to go to Dixie Bones. But then I remembered that a new barbecue place (Smokey Bones) just recently opened up in Woodbridge. So I changed the outing to the new place. Big mistake.
It was not so great. The disappointment started with the onion rings we got as part of our appetizer. They had salt on them. I don't mean cooked in salt. It was obviously put on after it was cooked, which I didn't enjoy. A good onion ring has plenty of flavor on it's own. Especially when dipped in beer batter.
The other problem I had was the ribs. Same problem. Too salty. I mean, it's barbecue. It's not supposed to be salty. It's supposed to either be sweet or tangy or spicy or all of the above. I actually didn't get to the ribs at the restaurant because I was full. But I did try one when I got home. Luckily I had some barbecue sauce at home to drown out the salt.
I think I will stick with Dixie Bones or the Famous Dave's, which is also in that area.
